Factors of success in sensor-augmented pump treatment (SAPT)

Sensor-augmented pump treatment (SAPT) combines continuous glucose monitoring with an insulin pump. In an ongoing study we have initiated SAPT in about 50 young people with type 1 diabetes, to analyze the effects of initial training and coaching on the ability of people with diabetes to properly use these devices. The impact on quality of life will also be assessed. The overal aim is to identify factors associated with successful use, as well as to look into the psychological impact of using such automated wearable technologies.
